A lot of drill bits and milling bits have standardized 3mm shafts. This model is a simple box for up to 7 such bits. While industrial bits often come in a very handy box, the hobbyist bits usually lack this luxury.
There are two versions - 50mm high and 65mm high for different bits.
Files
I included 3mf project files for PrusaSlicer with the correct settings already stored in the project.
There are two STL files for the two parts of the box: the main box (shell), which simply folds up to close the box. And the “holder” part that holds the bits and can be inserted into the shell.
Additionally I included the FreeCAD (version 1.0) design files, so you can modify it for yourself. To make a higher or shorter box simply change the base plate length in the “Sketch Box Base Plate” sketch - everything else will be automatically recalculated. All sketches and 3D features are (hopefully) named so that their function is relatively easy to guess.
Printing
Use the 3mf projects if you can - all the settings are already there.
The main box should be printed with 100% infill (just to prevent weird artifacts when using translucent filament). Print it laying flat on the print bed.
The holder should be printed with at least 25% infill (I get good results with “ZigZag” pattern) and an outer brim for stability (inner brim will be extremely difficult to remove). Print it standing up for accurate holes - otherwise you may have trouble inserting drill bits.
