The winch stop serves mainly as a protection against the hook being pulled into the winch, which often causes the winch to jam. Designed for ATVs with wire rope winches.

This remix is a flatter version of the original held together by only two bolts and made for a 5 mm wire rope. The stop has a hole of 6 mm in diameter to leave space for a piece of rubber to prevent the stop from sliding. I cut a small piece of rubber from an old bicycle tube.

Assembly

Rotate one piece 180⁰ and assemble using:

• 2 x M5x20 socket head cap screws
• 2 x M5 nuts with nylon lockers
• small piece of rubber around the wire rope to prevent sliding
