I wanted to use the “2inch Desktop Vise” together with my Magnetic Helping Hand ¹) and the PLA-printed vise simply promised to be too light to have a firm stand. So I added holes to the base, where I could add 8 neodym magnets (two for each hole) and now it sticks firmly to the surface.
