Summary
X-Bow Setup Jig and Tuning. I made this for myself, but decided to share it. Use at your own risk. Experimental.
The holding pegs on main body are not "perfect" and may require trimming and adjustment. But once dialed in, the left side of bow should lay perfectly flat on jig.
Use the same source for bubble level as the you did for the X-Bow
Properly mounted what can this jig do.
With the arrow holders plugged in:
- Set up Arrow Rest or Whisker alignment.
- Align D Loop to proper plane of the nock and the arrow.
Without arrow holders (remove before attempting any of this):
First: Adjust holding device and 2020 hold down on the 2020 Extrusion Stretch Arm for length of desired Arrow/Draw.
- Properly mounted to a backer board such as plywood or 2x12 inch lumber, standing up this jig, with backer board affixed to a post, it can Test Fire and adjust your sights.
- Removes most all the human element.
- Properly setup my Draw Right. See https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6732183
- Test the pull weight of the bands.
BOM Needed:
500mm or more of 2020 Extrusion For the Arm. (500mm can handle 29" Arrow draw)
4x long decking screws to hold main body to a wall or a sturdy board.
2x decking screws to fasten the 2020 Holder at the far end of the arm
5x M3 Bolts and 4x M3 Tee-Slot Nuts 1x M3 Nut 5x M3 Washers
And of course you'll need a complete X-Bow from Muzzy: https://www.thingiverse.com/mussy/designs You will will have to nav over to MakerWorld to get the STL's.
Use caution.
1. Never walk in front of a loaded X-Bow with bands drawn and arrow in place. Don't ever risk it. Never aim at anything you're not willing to destroy. Know your target and what lays beyond.
2. Never draw the bands while using arrow holders.
3. Use a 1 inch wide safety strap on the grip when drawing the bands. Strong Velcro or buckle strap. Don't assume the pegs will hold it.
4. Never overdraw your arrow. Mark your arrows 1 inch from pointy end as a mark to stop pulling at the rest.
5. Use all the bolts to hold down the band holding device on the 2020 arm. Fasten everything to solid wood. If you don't know what you're doing, please seek assistance.
