Summary
Cartridge shell for the Atari 2600 MovieCart by Rob "lodef mode", based on the shell by norm8332
This shell is held together with 4 small wood screws. It fits well into my 6-switch console, unlike another model I printed.
I extended the length of norm8332's shell by 1cm to allow the PCB to fit and also keep the screw posts in the corners. I added a window on the side to allow easy access to the microSD card; the window is a bit large but it works for adult-sized fingers.
Printed on Ender 3 V3 KE with Reprapper PLA filament. I sanded the sides and sprayed a satin clear coat, but that is just cosmetic and not necessary.
This is my first "thing" and first experience with Fusion360 so it may have flaws. I stumbled my way through these steps using various online sources. I repeated each set of steps for the top and bottom part of the shell. I didn't need to modify the holder piece.
- Imported norm8332's STL file into Fusion360 as a mesh
- Converted mesh to a solid body (faceted because I am using the free version)
- Had to scale by 0.1 since the model was 10x actual size for some reason
- Manually reduced extraneous polygons on flat faces by just deleting some and letting Fusion repair it, and undoing actions that made weird results
- Extended the length 1cm via cutting, press/pulling, and merging back together
- Made the window cutout by making a block "tool" of the right size and position then combine/cut
- Exported to STL
- Imported to Creality Print -- didn't need to add supports or really do any other prep
- Printed without drama
