Summary

Work-issued laptop is a bit too big to be used on the desk, so I use it with external monitors and everything else, treating it as a desktop. Being a quite powerful machine it generates a lot of heat, the cooling system draws air through the keyboard, i.e. for the adequate air flow the screen should be open even a little bit.

This week that stand gave up and the lower hooks broke off, not bad for PLA.

I realized there was no real need to use that old design, it took a bit more space than needed, the laptop can be put vertically.
The indent of this stand is just to keep the laptop cover ajar, to a point where the screen is still off, but the gap lets enough air in.

The first version turned out to provide good support for the laptop with bottom and screen weighing about the same.
My laptop is bottom-heavy, so it was tipping over easily. For its current location, against the wall behind the screens, it is not a big issue, the wall won't let it go far.
But for other scenarios I added a second version with one of the sides higher than the other, should prevent the laptop from tipping over.
Stand halves are connected by two #2 pencils, with the erasers removed.

To prevent scratching the edges I put self-sticking felt from the hobby store, leftover from some other project.
6mm silicone bump-ons may be inserted into the holes on the down side of the stand, so it does not slide easily over the desk.
