Summary
Bulky, Evil looking crown that holds 30mm, 7.62, and 5.56 shells to complete its design. Fitted to 7 1/2 inch head size, but can be padded to sit higher or fit smaller heads.
You may choose to print projectiles for any of the rounds, I highly recommend doing this for at least the 30mm cannon rounds to make the overall design more pointy. I used the following for the test model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3730354
Post-Printing
Materials Required
- Either 1x Full crown print, or 1EA Crown Front, Back, Left, and Right quarters
-
Optional, 4x printed 30x173 cannon round projectiles (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3730354).
- 4 30x173 cannon shells
- 10 7.62x51 or similar
-
18 5.56x45 or .223 remington
-
Padding material for fitting, I recommend using some kind of decently stiff packing foam
- A decently strong 2-part epoxy or JB Weld for assembly
Assembly
Print either
-
Sand the base of all the brass shells, the base of each of the podium
-
If printing quarter parts, sand each of the joining pegs and the flat surfaces
-
Optional, paint the assembly
-
Snap-fit the 4 cannon shells into the largest podiums. Epoxy isn't necessary as these are exceedingly tight snap-fits
-
Put a small dab of epoxy on each of the 7.62 shells and glue into the medium podiums
- Repeat for all the 5.56
For fitting, I recommend gluing 4" strips of foam, roughly 1/2" thick along the inside of the ring, then trimming thinner as required.
