Summary
Wanhao I3 Duplicator Filament Sensor
Summary
I Really liked the TUSH - The Ultimate Spool Holder remix for the Wanhao i3 Duplicator, so I decided to add it to my printer. After this, I decided I needed some form of FIlament Sensor to never come back to a half printed print... we've all been there. This design utilises a limit switch and Octoprint to pause the printer whenever the filament runs out. The particular limit switch is linked below. The design is purposely made to rotate with the twists in filament as this makes sure that the filament is not under too much tension to cause a 3D printer and then a failed print. On top of this, I started developing a group of upgrades to the Wanhao i3 Duplicator, which are linked below; these upgrades include lighting, BLTouch mount and finally, a raspberry pi case.
