FDM printable version of scottbez1's splitflap enclosure. These have nearly identical dimensions of the splitflap v0.7 design, though the current STLs are likely incompatible with the face-screw positioning.

Assembly Instructions

1. Clean the holes on the Spindles. Use a 1.8mm drill bit to clean out the flap holes. And use a deburring tool (or equivalent) on the holes for the motor shaft, pin and magnet.
2. Place Stepper Motor from the inside of the Frame, with the motor shaft pointing in.
   • Remember to thread the wires through the hole first!
   • Remember that the wires face upwards!
   • Remember that the motor goes through the hole, with the mount points inside the enclosure!
3. Insert 2x M4 nuts in the Frame motor attachment points. Thread 2x M4x8mm round head screws through the motor mounts, enclosure, and into the M4 nuts.
   • You can use 8-16mm screw length.
   • The nuts may not be friction-captured, in which case you'll juggle holding the nuts, the motor, and screw! Sorry…
4. Thread the Hall-Effect Sensor through the slot in the Frame. Affix the Sensor PCB using M4x8mm and M4 nut.
   • You can use 8-10mm screw length.
   • Leave it loose for now to allow for adjustment.
5. Press fit the Magnet into the hole on the Spindle Left-Half.
   • Check the orientation of the magnet first!
6. Press fit the Spindle Left-Half onto the stepper motor shaft.
   • Be careful not to smush the hall-effect sensor!!!
7. Press fit the M4x10mm pin into the Spindle Right-Half.
   • If you've pushed the pin too far in, use a dull pointy from the other side, or (gently) use pliers.
   • Alternatively, use a M4x10 (up to 12mm) pin or screw.
8. Align the two Spindle Halves and affix using M4x10mm screw and M4 nut.
   • You can use a 10-12mm screw length.

Built-in are various mechanisms for attaching multiple frames together, or attaching to some face panel.

• For attaching to a face panel, drill out the 2 mounting holes (the plastic should only be 1-layer thick), and insert some M4 hex nuts into the provided points.
• For attaching to other frames, use the Attachers. There are two styles provided for horizontal or horzontal+vertical grid.
• Remember to install the flaps and do sensor calibration before attaching frames together, as otherwise it'll be REALLY annoying…

Printing Notes

I've had success printing with a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.3mm layer height. I have not tested a 0.4mm nozzle print as of yet…
