This is a curtain rod holder. Without scaling, the mouth is designed to hold a 0.5" PVC pipe at 22mm. If you want it to hold another size rod, scale the entire thing by (diameter in mm)/22.

Driving a thin nail through the chin might make it a bit stronger, the chin has a penchant for braking off along the lamination lines.
