Summary

A tool for making 18" nominal width HO-scale grab irons from 28 gauge phosphor bronze wire. The grab iron dimensions are based on these. I do not know, but don't think that this thing would work if trying to fabricate irons from piano/music wire.

A skilled hobbyist can absolutely make grab irons with "just" a pair of pliers. This tool was helped me make irons with more consistent dimensions.

The ergonomics of the tool could be improved.

Though a grab iron made with this tool is shown installed on a locomotive, the accompanying file is neither of a grab iron or a locomotive.
