I was motivated by this post on /r/functionalprint to design my own webcam mount. Previously, my webcam was just taped to my monitor, which was not very stable. I was sketching some ideas for the design when I thought to add cat ears, which I thought would be a unique touch. I simplified my design a lot (one arm instead of two, no cover, no pan adjust, no threaded inserts), which helped me actually get this project done instead of it just languishing in my head.
There's some minor improvements made in the STLs in this post. I added some chamfers to the screw holes to make it easier to thread them in, I made the arm more angled to account for the depth of the monitor, and I trimmed off some material on the left side of the camera plate. I might retro-fit a cover since the bare PCB look is starting to look ugly to me. Overall though, I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

- OV9726 Laptop Camera Module
- 2 M3 Hex Cap Head DIN912 Machine Screws (At least 7mm length)
- 2-3 M2 screws (I used random ones I had lying around)
- Picture-hanging Command Strip, Small size (Or other adhesive, like double sided tape)
Notes
- The USB cable is tied in place with a small twisty tie that is strung through a hole in the back of the camera plate.
- The camera uses a 5-pin JST SH connector. It shipped with a very short cable, so I crimped a new one.
- The camera is 720p with pretty bad picture quality and a narrow field of view.
