Summary
an attachment to keep the drill square to the work-surface
kind of a portable/handheld drill-press :-)
for those who either don't want to sacrifice or simply have the space for a proper drill press
designed around a pair of drawer-slides, with modularity/extensability in mind
Note:
1) the collar of the powerdrill this was designed for measures 43mm diameter, 20mm long - yours might be different
2) a keyless chuck is still kinda accessible - an older style chuck with a key would be easier to use - this wasn't avoidable because of the position of the two pre-tapped holes on the drawer-slides, which the collar attaches to...
3) with my drill plus chuck and a 182mm drawer-slide, drills up to 8mm fit effortlessly - bigger drills tend to be longer and might exceed the maximum length of the drawer-slides - using longer ones might fix this
Post-Printing
needs the following vitamins:
drawer slides, 17mm wide, 182mm long (retracted) - the simple, NOT the full extending ones
M8x50 DIN912 Bolt + Nut for the handle
M4 screws and nuts to mount the drawer slides to the backplane pieces
M3x25 + nuts for the collar
optional:
M3 screws and nuts for the footplate add-ons
mounting the backplane.001 is also optional - might be needed on longer drawer slides
