This grip attachment makes the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons much more comfortable to use individually (“split mode”). By clipping onto the left and right Joy-Con, it adds a more natural handhold, reducing strain and making gameplay feel more ergonomic.

I designed two versions:

• Friction-fit version – holds securely with just friction. Works well and requires no extra parts.
• Magnet version – uses small magnets to make attaching and detaching easier. I used 8 mm diameter × 2.5 mm thick magnets sourced from a Chinese webshop. For best results, let the magnets stick out about 0.2 mm above the surface, this makes the fit snugger with the Joy-Con attachment rails.

I personally find the friction version perfectly functional, but the magnetic version adds a little convenience if you often remove/reattach the grips.

I’m sharing this because playing with the Joy-Cons apart feels more ergonomic for me, and these grips could also be useful for people with mobility issues who need a more comfortable controller shape.
