I did my best to split the graduation cap and the actual octopus figurine. I liked the shape of the original octopus head but I couldn't find the original model without the cap.
There was a tiny bit of extra floating stuff that the software didn't seem to want to remove, so that might be a little extra to sand off on the top in post.
I also put the cap as a separate model because it's way easier to print both individually than with the supports messing up the arms.

Use rafts for the octopus' tentacles to print right, the cap shouldn't need any special adhesion. I also recommend using retraction and z hop so that the nozzle doesn't hit the tentacle segments and reduces stringing while printing

To remove from the raft, take a pair of small wire cutters or pliers and slide them between the tentacle segment so that the sharp part is facing up touching both sides of the tentacle and the dull part is resting on the raft. Gently squeeze and wiggle the pliers until the tentacle segment pops off, then repeat for the next segment. Do NOT squeeze too hard to try clipping the tentacle off, it will result in the bottom of your tentacle being damaged.
Only once all the tentacles are free should you peel the raft off the bottom of the octopus.
