This is a 3D-printed base for a depth gauge dial indicator, designed to help with precise measurements when setting up a planing form for bamboo rod building.

The base is designed to fit a standard 8 mm stem dial indicator, which is secured in place using an M4x10 mm screw.

To improve stability and measurement accuracy, the body of the base is hollow, allowing it to be filled during printing to increase weight. In my case, I filled it with 4.5 mm steel BBs (airsoft pellets), reaching a total weight of over 150 g, which significantly improves stability during use.

Notes

• You can pause the print and fill the cavity with your preferred material (steel balls, sand, etc.)
