Addendum Jan. 5, 2026 : I cannot get my hanger to stay stuck, so I modified this version so that it no longer requires "stick on" mounting.

This print was made for a specific car waste container. The container is designed to be hung on a door pocket, but I do find this to be a convenient location, so I made this stick-on hanger.

As noted above, I was unable to get any kind of mounting tape to stay attached to the vinyl on my car, so I modified this initial version to a "clamp on" Version 2, which you can find here :

Assembly and Use

The hook part of the hanger should be glued into the base - see the photos for proper orientation. I recommend using a gap filling glue like E6000 or similar polyurethane glue.

I like to attach the hanger to the car center console, on the passenger side. If you do this, be sure to move the passenger seat all the way forward before attaching the hanger, so you can be sure it will not interfere with seat movement.

Apply double-side foam tape to the back of the base (see photos). After fastening the hanger to the console, remove the container from the hanger and press the hanger firmly to the console for 60 seconds. I recommend leaving the hanger part in place for 24 hours before hanging the trash container.

Note : I initially tried attaching this using plain old double-sided foam tape, but I could not get this tape to stick firmly to the car (even though I used it successfully on another car with a similar print). I was careful to clean the attachment surface thoroughly, but this did not help. I finally had success using Scotch brand maximum strength mounting tape.

With the hanger in place, simply hang the trash container on the hook.

Print Instructions

Print in PETG using the 3mf files provided, otherwise :

Base :

Print flat side down (note support required).

• 0.2mm layer height

• 2 perimeters

• 15% grid infill

• support under internal "dovetail"

Hook :

Print on side for maximum strength.

• 0.2mm layer height

• 5 perimeters

• no infill
