After I made a solder holder from Mr. Horsley's design, one of my co-workers asked me whether I can make something to hand the soldering wire spool from our shelves in the laboratory. So, I thought “why not making something that can be used interchangeably with the holder I just made?” So I started designing the hanger with groove pattern same as Mr. Horsley's design and came up with this design. If you're going to download this model, make sure to check out his design and make it too!
I printed it with my Creality Ender3 V3 SE with the below specs:
| Material | PLA |
| Infill | 15% |
| Layer Height | 0.2mm |
| Nozzle Temperature | 190degC |
| Hotbed Temperature | 50degC |
| Support | Tree |
| Type | Organic |
I used Tree supports instead of grid, because I didn't want to scar the bottom part to of ring too. When slicing, I suggest placing the model the same as how I printed it (shown in the picture). There's a slight angle between two walls so that when the hanger grips the shelf, it becomes more fit and rigid. It is mostly suitable for 15 to 16mm MDF shelves, but if you want it to be customized for other edges, contact me via my E-mail siaemam@gmail.com and I send the modified version of it. Unfortunately I can't upload my CAD model due to some security reasons, but I hope someday the issue resolves and I update this model with the CAD model.
If you made a sample and liked it, make sure to share it with me. I love to see other makes!
