Hi!
I designed this caliper, which is both interesting and practical. It's a great DIY project.
The vernier caliper has a mark every 1 mm. If your measurement value is between two marks, the reading will be accurate to 0.5 mm. If you look closely, the accuracy can be even higher :) Due to the ingenious structural design, the vernier caliper has almost no gaps, but the actual performance also depends on the printing parameters you use. I specially equipped this vernier caliper with three different slider designs, each of which focuses on smooth sliding and positioning accuracy:
Type 1: The sliding gap is about 0.6 mm
Type 2: The sliding clearance is about 0.4 mm
Type 3: The sliding clearance is about 0.2 mm
If you've also made this caliper, please feel free to share your experience and insights with its use—I'm really looking forward to hearing
P.S. If any of you want the British version, I'll consider launching it. If you're interested, feel free to let me know!
Best wishes to you,
Jordi B
