After playing with the customizable collet chucks here, I realized that I actually wanted to make a few adjustments. At the same time, I also wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how to use OpenSCAD - it was with these two considerations in mind that I decided to write a set of parametric collet chucks myself.
This design supports customizing the claw mouth width, claw face width, and overall wall thickness; you can also flexibly adjust the inclination angle of each line segment on the claw face and freely set the position and size of the round rod clamping seat. The "grip" lines on the claw face run through the entire end face. Even if you choose a non-standard wall thickness, you can ensure that the model is seamlessly connected without any gaps.
In addition, if your printer has limited space, you can choose to print only on one side of the claw. However, in this case, you may need to make minor adjustments to the round bar groove to ensure smooth alignment on both sides. When trying to print for the first time, it is recommended to set the round bar groove to 20%, and then gradually increase it to 80% the next time. Repeat this adjustment process until you determine the most suitable parameters. In fact, the operation is quite intuitive and simple.
For your convenience, I've also specially equipped my 4.5-inch vice with clamp jaws of the corresponding size—after all, almost all vices on the market come in either 4-inch or 5-inch models, while I happened to purchase an "outlier" vice that most people tend to avoid. But don't worry, this vice is actually quite user-friendly, and I still really like it.
Edit note: The new version has been re-uploaded. When the number of magnet holes is set to zero, the system will automatically skip the generation of magnets, completely avoiding this potential problem. Thank you to VTXRider1 for promptly identifying and reporting this bug!
Edit note: New function - the width of the round rod clamping seat can be flexibly extended without deepening its depth. Just adjust it through the "Round rod clamping seat width scaling" parameter.
