Summary
The NeXTstation pizza-box computer case has no LEDs, and as the original SCSI hard disks slowly pass away and get replaced with modern, silent SCSI emulators (RaSCSI, ZuluSCSI, SCSI2SD etc) there isn't even a sound to know when the machine is doing something!
With this bracket you can mount a 3mm LED into one of the air holes on the side. One on the front corner is the most visible place and the light will reflect enough from the table below that it can be seen further away. But it's not super-bright (as if you mount a LED directly onto the slot). I wanted to have it in a more subtle way (to suit the superbly subtle and stylish look of the machine itself).
If you mount it under the floppy or hard disk drive, the bracket clips will hold the LED and the bracket in place without need for tape or glue.
I used transparent PLA and put a small piece of white sticker to reflect the light on the corner, and added a piece of white heatshrink tube to direct the light.
