This is used to organize wires in a storage container that has removable dividers. The end result is a way to easily store wires in a container, and find what you need when you need it.

The problem is that I often have a mess of wires after I am done prototyping. They take up a lot of space. The next time that I start using the wires, I am spending time hunting for wires in the mess.

I first started with cardboard and a pair of scissors. The prototype showed that it would be a nice solution, but the material wasn't up to par. It's difficult to cut with precision and avoid compromising the structure. Plastic would have to do.

I could cut the existing dividers, but it would be difficult, ugly and ruin the possibility of reusing the box for something else later.

I took measurements and started designing a model. The first print was too tight. Another was too thin, and so on. As I started printing off more prototypes, I was able to used them and see how the wires reacted to them. I found that the curved ones were bending out of place, so I created a bottle neck to prevent them from cumming out on their own.

I am able to store my wires easily. I can carry the container and put it on a shelf out of the way.
