A frame for a print that my wife made for the Open Print Exchange in 2024. I printed it in black PLA+ without supports.
The Open Print Exchange (https://openprintexchange.com) invites artists to use their Open Etching Press and submit small prints for an exhibition and print exchange. The prints must be 7cm x 7cm in size.
There are three parts to print, the frame, the frame back and the keyhole hanger. The hanger is glued to the frame back, then the frame back is screwed into the frame, sandwiching the print and a clear acetate sheet that is cut to size. See the exploded view image for details. In the .3mf file for the frame back, there is text you can edit for your specific entry number and the year.
One of the benefits of entering the Open Print Exchange is that you submit 10 copies, then later you receive 9 randomly-selected prints from other entrants. I am currently printing a bunch of frames for the returned prints!
