Replacement Lid for the Kenwood Chef XL Titanium ref n. KVL8300S.
This lid fell into the dough mixer and was broken by the blades.
I printed it in PLA+ as a prototype, it fitted very nicely on the plexyglass piece.
The 3D print saved me to buy the entire plexy assembly!
I am planning to print again in food-safe transparent PETG.
As your model could be slightly different, here is how I made it:
- Take a picture of your lid from above. Keep your camera parallel to the surface.
- Import that picture into any 2d design tool, I used MS Powerpoint as I know it & I am lazy.
- Draw the perimeter of your lid using the picture as a background.
- Take a snapshot of your drawing (remove the picture first) and save it as a JPEG.
- Go to “JPEG to SVG” converter website, https://image.online-convert.com/convert/jpeg-to-svg
- Convert your image to SVG, then open it into Thinkercad, https://www.tinkercad.com/
- Modify it to make it fit the hinge of the plexy part.
- Print in any material you like.
- A bit of post processing might be needed to make the hinge fit properly.
- Take the few bucks you saved and spend it on a beer.
- Cheers!
