Because you need a 3D printer to create anything like that.

This was designed for the limited build surface of our makerbot friends. If you have a decent build surface, you will obviously not need such a workaround.

Print the three parts. Stick together.

Might require some shaping, or some glue. I would also suggest to make the connector bit wider if your bridging is good, for more stability.
