Summary
A buck-converter mounting plate that screws to the PSU of the Ender 5, and catches behind the power-switch for stability.
I designed it to mount 2 of the LM2596 modules with voltage display (see image) and a Raspberry Pi.
Hardware requirements; some nuts and screws, nothing special. You could use a tap for and screw in m4 bolts, but for something electrical, I prefer to use a nut to make sure the screws stay fixed :)
The bolts that fix the plate to the PSU should be M4x8, no longer. The plate is 3mm thick at that point on purpose; the PSU has 5mm thread (as described in the spec sheet), so M4x8 will be safe. There MIGHT be more room inside, but I have not opened my PSU to check. Leave a comment if you know more than I do ;)
The Raspberry Pi mounts under an angle. This is not harmful at all, but if you are not careful, you might accidentally short the GPIO pins on the case. I strategically stuck a bit of electrical tape on the case to prevent shorts.
One could, of course, design and print a GPIO cover that would insulate it ... New project idea :P
Hardware list
2x M4x8 for mounting the plate to the PSU
12x M3 nut
12x M3x5 for mounting the buck converters and RasPi to the mount.
Warning!
The raspi has M2.5 holes, just ease (and I do mean EASE) the M3 bolt in one turn in, half-a-turn back, then undo and repeat 2 more times.
This will slowly widen the mount holes. It's fine, just do it really, really carefully.

Step 3: build your own;
Raspberry Pi
If you want to use a Raspberry Pi, place the Raspberry Pi mount in the frame. Be aware of the dimensions of the Raspberry Pi;
it is a very tight fit.
- Select the RasPi mount (left) and with SHIFT pressed, select the RasPi Mount in the example placement.
- Both mounts are now selected; press L (for aLignment)
- When the black alignment circles appear, click the RasPi mount in the example; you should now see black circles on that part only.
- Click the alignment circle on the bottom left of the part; this will align the "other" part with this one.
For the buck converter(s);
- Measure the distance between holes on your buck converter, the short side first. Mine measure 28.2.
- Take the measurement and add 3.3; my "DISTANCE" is now 31.5
- IMPORTANT: Set the snapping tool on the bottom to 0.1mm !!!
- Select the thing called a "bar"
- Duplicate it (CMD+D or CTRL+D or use Copy/Paste)
- If they are not exactly on top of eachother, Select them both, press L and align them.
- Deselect (if selected) and select one, move the one (with either keyboard or mouse+SHIFT) DISTANCE away.
- You can use the input field to directly type your required distance.
- Horizontal set-up is now done; select both Bars and --UNGROUP-- (CTRL+SHIFT+G). This will release the ScrewHoles from the Bars
- Measure the distance between holes the long side; mine measure 58.2
- Take the measurement and add 3.3; my "DISTANCE" is now 61,5
- Select both ScrewHoles (just the holes, not the bar), and align them to the bottom one.
- Select one of them and move that one "Distance" upward.
- Do the same for the other "Bar" + "ScrewHoles" set.
- Select both sets and once more UNGROUP. This will reveal the Bolt and Nut cut-outs.
- Select both sets and cut-outs again and GROUP (CTRL+G)
- Now you can place the mount as a whole onto the frame. Duplicate if you want to mount 2 buck converters
Before final assembly, make sure all parts are aligned to the frame properly.
- Select the frame and the RasPi mount and the buck converter mounts
- Press L to aLign
- Select the frame
- Align to top.
Final assembly:
- Select the frame and the RasPi mount and the buck converter mounts
- UNGROUP once
- GROUP once
- Done :)
You can now export and print
Select the assembled model and click export.
