This part is to repair a workshop broom. The part is the plastic connector between the brush head and the handle. The broom is sold by a uk company called Jewsons.
When making the model I increased the thickness of the material around the handle for extra strength and added a second fixing screw to hold the handle in place.
This connector would work with most wooden broom heads, it will fit most one inch diameter handles and has a press fit but with the two fixing holes you could go smaller. I’ve also included the CAD files both Step and fusion 360 files, so if you would like to play with the sizes you can, just remember the license these files are under.
To fix the connector all you would need is 3 or 4 (depending on how many handle fixing screws you want to use) M4 countersink screws and longer than 6mm to connect it to the broom head. It’s also best to pre drill the holes in the handle when fitting it.
I’ve printed mine in PETG but ASA/ABS would work too. Best to avoid PLA because of its material properties but that’s up to you. The model is also best if printed solid around the handle area. If you’re not sure on settings you can always use my pre-sliced files on this page, just remember they are in PETG.
I hope you find this useful in repairing your damaged brooms and happy printing :)
