First and Foremost, if you are switching between PLA and ABS you need to use this tool and relevel every time. Only if using different temps on the heated bed.This is a simple to use tool that I designed to keep your plate nicely distanced from the extruder.

Simply find your home axes on the printer. Now take the printer head and move it to the center of the build plate with your hand. Take the tool and place it down over one set of bars the carriage is riding on, either the left of the right. At this point, the two tips sticking down should not touch the build plate. Leave a little distance between the build plate and the tool. Adjust the screws on the bottom of the build plate until the distances between the tool tips and the build plate are even and the extruder is not touching. Now move it to the opposite side and do the same thing. Just make sure the build plate is the same distance to each point on the tool in each position. It's a little better if you sand the part to nice square finishes for better alignment.
