Summary
Securely mounts an Xbox One controller to a pillar using a Command adhesive strip.
Uses the controller's charging wire to prevent side-to-side sliding. Narrow (1 inch) width. Low profile (2.10 inches deep).
Note: this won't work against a wall. I designed this for minimum projection off the surface, so it uses the lobes of the controller as counter-weight to keep the controller in the cradle.

How I Designed This
Most of the other Xbox controller mounts I've seen point the USB-C port up. For my desk, it works better to point the wire down to keep the controller plugged in while resting.
It needed to be narrow enough to fit on the leg of the desk (~1" wide).
I didn't want to nail or drill into the desk, so I chose to mount using Command Picture Hanging strips (the olive green labeled one). https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/how-to-use/picture-hanging-strips
Finally, it needed to stick out as little as possible. I didn't want to bang my knees into the controller.
Starting from a basic shape L-shape, I tried to follow the contours of the Xbox One controller, for less rattling and sliding.
Next, I cut a little 1/2" gap to make room for the USB-C plug, forming the tines of the fork.
Then, I cut out an indent on the hanging wall for the adhesive strip to nestle. I made the adhesive strip dimensions User Parameters, so you can easily modify the size of the mounting strips by changing the StripHeight, StripWidth, StripThickness, StripTab parameters..
The hardest part was figuring out how to support it for easy printing on its side. I tried various things, and I don't think any of them worked out particularly well. I've included my best attempt, but feel free to add your own supports to the unsupported.
