Just watched Top Gun Maverick last night on its first day release. I've been waiting to see it since forever. Came home and opened up SolidWorks, and immediately Googled some images to trace, which I then tweaked to as perfect as possible in symmetry and proportions, which took about 4 hours, followed by a print, and 2 other versions the next day. Surprisingly, I've never found a Top Gun logo on any of my searches on Thingiverse, so I just had to make my own, and share with whoever wants it.

There are 3 versions of the logo. Each of them has 3 layers for color changes. I started with white/silver for the background, followed by red, then finally, blue to get the Top Gun logo colors. I just used .20mm to save time, but enabled the ironing feature for top layers to get a better finish. The pictures shown there are fresh out of the printer, and were taken under a bright ring light with high resolution, so every single blemish on the surface is showing, but it looks a lot cooler with plain eyesight.

Using the SolidWorks trace function with the image superimposed, and manually tracing the lines and aligning them for uniformity and equal spacing, threw in a few splines on the curved parts of the Tomcat, and mirrored one side to the other, so both sides are pretty equal to each other. Then I did the first extrusion of the entire logo, did a second one with only the blue part, and a third one from under, to create the background by offsetting and connecting the base logo to close the borders.
