Here are five polyhedra which illustrate the dissection of two truncated octahedra into a cube. see

In this dissection a truncated octahedron is cut into 4 identical pieces, "quarter_to.stl", and a second truncated octahedron is cut into 2 identical pieces, "half_to.stl".
Four "quarter_to.stl" plus two "half_to.stl" can be assembled intoa cube. In the assembled cube the quarter pieces are joined at half square faces and the half pieces at square faces. The cube is then completed by the joining of 8 pairs of hexagonal faces.
"two_quarter_to.stl", "four_quarter_to.stl", and "two_half_to.stl" are polyhedra made by joining 2 or 4 quarter pieces at half square faces and 2 half pieces at square faces. Cubes can be assembled from a single "two_half_to.stl" polyhedon and 2 "two_quarter.to.stl" polyhedra or a single "four_quarter_to.stl" polyhedron and 2 "half_to.stl" polyhedra.

These polyhedra are scaled so that they serve as additional blocks for "Truncated Octahedra as Children's Blocks" - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2479574 "four_quarter_to.stl" has nesting places for two truncated octahedra and is useful for building towers. "half_to.stl" nests into "trunc_o_square_four.stl" making a stable base. Two "two_quarter_to.stl" can be assembled into a rectangular solid.
