This is a printer mod for the K2 Plus. It moves the color changer's waste disposal to the inside of the K2 Plus printer. 2500 cm^3 of room (Short model), or 3800 cm^3 (Tall or Short + Extender).
My brand-new K2 Plus had a dysfunctional Waste Management System. It kept jamming due to a faulty/sticky/stiff flipper table. (It had a bent arm that once straightened works perfectly.)
In any case, I've decided a redesign of the entire waste disposal system is a reasonable option to explore.
Step 1 is to move the waste bin to the inside of the printer if I could find room.
Fortunately, there was a clear block of space to the rear of the printer and a steel base plate. This allowed me to design a reasonably large bin and place it securely on the inside where it's easy to access and clean out. It does require a couple of magnets that you can get online almost anywhere.
Step 2 is to cut away the bottom of the existing poop chute. The allows the little poops to drop straight down into the new internal bin. I used some duct tape to block off the external window which is where the poop would normally go. At some future point, I'll design something better for that aspect.
For now, this system works, and I don't have to reach behind my printer or sweep the floor after every print. The Small Bin works great for most projects. You may want to use the Tall model if you print lots of big items with prolific color changes. Or do what I did and print out the Extender model and attach it to the Short model just when I think I'll need it.
