This is design to be used with a Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod.

This is just the volumetric section of the quick release plate that the tripod locks to, you will need to source yourself a 1/4 thread bolt to attach this volumetric section to your camera. These can be found at any hardware store, you might have to trim the bolt down to size.

If so the easiest way to do that is thread a nut past where you want to cut the bolt, use a hacksaw to cut it to length, clean up any burrs or sharp bits with a file or sand paper, then thread the nut off. If there has been any damage to thread while trimming the bolt to length the nut should hopefully repair or reduce the damage as it unthreads.
