Here is a herringbone gear with proper involute teeth. The picture is a smaller gear pair I printed on a Bambu X2D in PLA to verify the geometry is correct and they mesh smoothly. 

The STL and STEP file were created using our automatic gear generator. It can create several different gear types and parameters are easily adjusted. It can make many other gear types with user defined tooth counts, bore size and type, face width etc. Check it out. https://involute.build/
