QUIET TUNE – PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS

This file contains the recommended printing, safety, and basic troubleshooting instructions for the Quiet Tune flute model.

1. SUPPORTED USE
--------------------------------------------------
This is a 3D printable wind instrument model intended to be printed as provided in the included model files.
If a .3mf file is included, it contains the recommended print setup and should work directly in compatible slicers such as Bambu Studio.

2. RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS
--------------------------------------------------
Material:
- PLA or PETG only recommended
Printer / Slicer Notes:
- 0.2 mm layer height
- 0.4 mm nozzle
- No supports required
- PEI plate recommended for best adhesion
- Place the finger holes on the build plate
Optional:
- Use variable layer height on the mouthpiece area for a smoother finish where it touches the lips
Additional Note:
- If using a plate other than PEI and warping becomes an issue, use a brim

3. IMPORTANT PRINT ORIENTATION

- Print with the finger holes facing the build plate
- Do not reorient the model unless you understand how it may affect airflow and sound quality

4. WIND INSTRUMENT PRINTING NOTE
--------------------------------------------------
3D printing wind instruments can be sensitive to even very small imperfections.
The most critical areas are:
- The sound hole
- The internal windway / air channel
For proper sound production, these areas must print cleanly and remain smooth and unobstructed.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
--------------------------------------------------
Problem:
- Flute produces no sound
- Sound is weak, airy, or unclear
Possible cause:
- Small print imperfections, stringing, or debris inside the windway
How to check:
- Hold the mouthpiece toward a bright light
- Look directly through the windway channel
- Check for blockages, roughness, or stray material
How to fix:
- Carefully remove stringing or debris
- Use a fine needle file, folded fine-grit sandpaper, or a very thin craft knife
Important:
- Be very gentle
- Only remove printing defects
- Do not alter the intended geometry of the windway

6. SAFETY INFORMATION

Recommended materials:
- High-quality PLA
- High-quality PETG
Notes:
- Material safety can vary by manufacturer and color
- Wash the mouthpiece after use
- If shared, clean thoroughly with soapy water
- Bacteria can accumulate between layer lines
Warning:
- Do not use hot water
- Do not use a dishwasher
- Heat may warp the printed part permanently

7. CARE

- Clean with mild soapy water only
- Dry fully before storage
- Avoid leaving the print in hot environments such as inside a car

- Pre-configured .3mf print setup
- Readme / instruction reference
If using another slicer, transfer the settings above manually.
