This voronoi elephant is a light remix of a lovely model originally published elsewhere under the CC BY-SA license. I’ve brought it to MakerWorld to make it easy to print directly from Bambu Studio or the Handy app. I originally printed one for my spouse and, since I already had the model prepared, I decided to share it here in the hope that others will enjoy it as well.
This version is intended to strike a good balance between print quality and print time. Here are the tradeoffs if you choose different settings:
0.12 mm High Quality (included profile) — approximately 5 hours on an X1/P1 series printer.
- Provides the best overall balance of quality and print time.
- Because the model is printed without supports, you may notice a few very minor sags or blobs in isolated areas.
- These imperfections are only visible up close and are difficult (if not impossible) to notice at normal viewing distances.
0.20 mm Standard — approximately 2.75 hours on an X1/P1 series printer.
- Nearly twice as fast.
- Layer lines and overhang imperfections are more noticeable.
- A good choice if you need to produce several copies quickly and don’t mind a few more visible imperfections.
0.08 mm High Quality — approximately 8 hours on an X1/P1 series printer.
- May produce slightly cleaner definition around some openings.
- Whether the additional print time is worthwhile is a matter of personal preference and priorities.
Although Bambu Studio may recommend supports, the model prints successfully without them. Enabling supports adds 30–45 minutes to the print time, uses more filament, and increases post-processing effort while providing very little benefit. The small areas that Bambu Studio flags for support are hidden underneath the model and aren't normally seen.
If anyone has suggestions for improvement, feel free to comment here, message me privately, or share your own remix. Happy printing! 🙂
