This modular sink backsplash covers the gap between the sink/countertop and the wall, ensuring that splashes and crumbs don't constantly migrate behind the basin. The part is deliberately kept flat (7 mm) so that it looks neatly flush and doesn't appear like a high back panel.

Dimensions and Construction

• Total length (current version): 778 mm
  built from 3 × 220 mm + 1 × 118 mm
• Depth: slightly tapered from 40 mm (left) to 45 mm (right)
• Height/Thickness: 7 mm

Connection System

The segments are connected via a dovetail joint with separate keys:

• Push segments together flush
• Insert key from behind (wall side)
• holds neatly straight, without screws or glue

Print Recommendation (Bambu P1S, PLA)

PLA is perfectly fine as a start. For “forever” I would later use PETG or ASA, but for testing and everyday use for now: it's fine.

Segments:

• Layer height: 0.20 mm
• Wall lines: 4–5
• Top/Bottom shell layers: 6 / 6
• Infill: 15–20%, preferably Gyroid
• Top surface: Monotonic (optional ironing for an extra smooth surface)

Assembly Note

Depending on the wall (tiles/plaster) and how straight everything is, it can help to apply the back edge very slightly or, if necessary, make it “splash-proof” with a thin, transparent silicone bead. But it is not absolutely necessary.
