definitely a work in progerss (or lack thereof) :)
I wanted a paste extruder for my Mendel90, but RichRap's version took away some of my x-travel. So I tried to design a new model based on some things i found on thingiverse.
The mounting holes are standard 50mm.
Happy printing!
Note:
I had some Issues with the gearratio as my stepper was to weak to operate the extruder. So use a very strong Motor or one with a gearreduction.
Another Note:
By now this is only a proof of concept, since I didn't (and most likely won't in the near future) find the time to update this extruder so it actually works. Print at your own risk and feel free to remix ad edit so I don't have to ;-).
Instructions
For assemble you also need:
-1 M8x40mm hexnut
-1 M8 nylock nut
-1 NEMA17 motor
-5 M3 Nuts
-4 M3 set screws (2 of them max. 6mm long)
-1 M3 screw (~10mm long)
-1 608 bearing
-3 M3 screws to mount the motor
-3 M3 washers for munting Motor
-1 reusable ziptie
-1 3piece 10ml syringe (e.g. BRAUN Omnifix)
- blunt end/shortened cannula if you want a smaller extrusion.
I think assembling is rather self explainatory.
Arrangement on the screw:
biggear - washer_1.5mm - 608 bearing - washer_5mm - smallgear - nut
The syringe is held in place by the ziptie on the lower end and on the upper end by the snap fit. The rack replaces the plunger and the rubberpiece is used as the seal.
The 1 M3 screw is used tune the distance between the rack and the smallgear.
