🛠️ Design Concept
This T-Track system and accessory kit is a high-utility workshop solution designed to provide stable, adjustable clamping in tight spots where traditional metal tracks won't fit.
The Engineering Challenge: > Converting a high-torque mechanical system (T-tracks) from aluminum to 3D-printed polymers requires specific geometry adjustments. This design features:
Reinforced Load Paths: The internal profiles are optimized to handle the upward "pull" of a T-bolt without deforming.
Customizable Lengths: A 2" modular track design that can be scaled or ganged together to fit any custom jig or workbench surface.
Precision Tolerances: Engineered with specific offsets to ensure smooth sliding of 3D-printed or metal T-bolts without binding.
🖨️ Printing Recommendations
For maximum mechanical strength and safety:
Material: Hyper PLA or Hyper PETG for high rigidity and heat resistance in a workshop environment.
Infill: 50% or higher (Gyroid or Cubic recommended for multidirectional strength).
Walls: 3–4 wall loops to ensure the T-slot remains rigid under clamping pressure.
🔧 Assembly Instructions
Print the required number of 2" track segments for your project.
Secure to your surface using high-strength adhesive or countersunk screws (depending on your specific jig setup).
Slide in your 3D-printed clamps and tighten to secure your workpiece.
