My youngest child fractured the proximal phalanx of his fourth finger. The splint provided by the clinic was basically a foam-covered plastic popsicle stick. The foam quickly got dirty and started to fall apart, so I wanted to print a more durable splint. However, most models can't prevent the finger from bending in the hand, but only prevent it from bending along its own axis. When the splint is secured with tape and its flat part is located in the palm area, the finger can't move at all.
