Growing and about:
A lid allows you to easily convert a classic pot into a hydroponic one, with easy placement of hanging nets for seeds. I use the Kratky method for growing, so an aerator is not necessary – the last photo shows an example of how I grew using a piece of wood with holes instead of lids. A gasket is needed to block the water from light if you don't need so many planting spaces – otherwise, algae will grow in it. I used foil, but now it can be done more easily and much more beautifully. You can remove the gasket for refilling, or someday I'll make a plug for the net hole, or maybe a separate lid.
Plans:
I also plan on lids with different sets of holes (1, 2, 3, 4) – but then they will increase in width, and I need to try different options – I want it to be aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, my current plastic is terrible and also glossy, but once I print it, it will look great with the new one.
Model tinker:
Before printing, measure the length of your pot and scale the model if necessary – it should be slightly larger than the pot (my model is 190 mm wide, and the pot is 170 mm). Also consider the print orientation; the supports are small, but if your printer isn't calibrated or the plastic is glossy, the print directions will be visible, and it's best to match them all.
