This requires the pins to be removed from the hinge of the trashcan lid. the third and fourth pictures shows where they're located along with the small plastic flap that needs to be pulled back to release them. The model is a pretty tight fit so don't be afriad to try to push it into the recess of the original hinge. This model kinda removes the ability for the lid w/o putting your foot on the trashcan pedal but I spent forever on this thing and someone else can modify this to make it more perfect.
