Summary
Felt cute, fixed a cabinet drawer today.
This little bracket attaches to a “quick-attach” metal bracket that is at the back end of our cabinets. Cabinets came with the house, so I don't know much about the systems used. What i could find is that it is a Haas bracket, and the part number of 4930739 which is imprinted on the original bracket that failed.
Regardless, it's a little du-dad that is made of plastic, broke, and instead of spending hard cash on a new one (which i couldn't even seem to find), I modeled (in FreeCAD) and printed one of these for myself.
Figured y'all would maybe enjoy having the file incase anyone else is in my boat.
Print Settings
While the original bracket is made out of what i can only think of as nylon (don't hate, I'm new to this space), i think any plastic would do. Personally, I printed on PETG, and that worked really well.
Other than temperature & speed being whatever you need for the material your working with, here's what I recommend and why:
- Orientation: As is in the file
Because of the need of supports, getting anything out of the smaller areas was an absolute pain. Print this file “on it's head” so all supports are outside of the bracket! - Layer height: 0.12 or finer
Ensuring good resolution on the “head” portion of this is key to fit into the bracket correctly. Also, I personally find 0.12 to be the sweet spot for even more strength - Walls: 3
More so for strength. The main walls of the bracket may get flimsily otherwise. 3 walls on a 0.4mm nozzle ensures solid walls with an infilled “head” - Infill: 20% Gyroid
Again, for extra strength on the “head” area - Supports: Yes (Pick whatever type works for you)
You will need supports one way or another, regardless of orientation.
