This design started as just a little trigonometric challenge for me to test myself with in Fusion 360. It turned out to be really fun to play with and I've had quite a few people pick them up from my coffee table and enjoy them. 

As a bonus, it turns out that because the top side of the design is an octagon, these work as great bases for a little articulating octopus, (or even a Rocktopus, haha). 

I printed in PLA with no supports and a 0.4mm nozzle. 

The solid one is an easy print for sure. The hole-y one is a little more challenging because of the bridges, but my Ender 3 S1 handled it pretty easily.
