The included photo is was printed on a Ultimaker S3 with Ultimaker PLA at a 0.3mm layer height, I would recommend printing in PETG as your compost bin is outside and PLA doesn't do well in the sun.

If you plan to replace the bottom vent definitely use PETG as I have had a PLA version broken by rats after becoming brittle in the sun.
