This is a hook for wire catering shelf / bakers rack. The rack I've got is a 8mm diameter wire. It's a large rack from Costco. 

The hole is so you can run a dowel between 2 hooks. Just screw a piece of wood between two of these hooks. 

I've printed this with a fairly heavy top and bottom, and low infill.
