Summary
Electric uncoupler for H0 model railroad. Inspired by old Piko uncoupler.
You will need:
- A step motor (aliexpress, model A1, see pictire)
- A spring 0.3x3x10 mm. (aliexpress)
- 5 screws M1.4x3 (aliexpress)
- 2 screws M1x4 (optional)
Before you start, check you have correct motor with cabe on the right side (see picture).
Print the pedal with supports (see picture) and other parts without supports.
Check the pedal moves freely in base, if not, sand the hole in the basement.
Put the plate under the rails and fix it with super glue (and M1x4 screws, use 0.8 mm. drill for it). Cut the sleepers with model knife to make the base inserted from top.
Insert pedal with spring to the base. Connect spring to the hook.
Install motor and fix it with M1.4x3 screws. Now connect motor check everything works correctly: pedal should move up and down by the motor without jamms.
Install cover and fix it with M1.4x3 screws.
Now you are ready. Install the uncoupler to the rails, check it works and adjust number of steps (usually 500-900 depends on variant of pedal)
Step motor can be driven by special decoder like this.
