This is a horizontal sewing thread spool holder for SKADIS pegboards. Print 2 hooks for every holder.
Many of the thread holders I found were designed vertically, which makes sense for printing SKADIS hooks without support, but doesn't make sense for my organization style. I wanted a thread holder that would fit the following criteria:
Print quickly without supports (~30 minute print using 0.2mm layers on my P1S)
Ensure that the print orientation does not create a weak area on the hooks or thin posts
Flexible design which could be modified to fit various spools
Hold both spools and bobbins for my small common spools
I liked the idea of printing the hooks seperatly and adding them onto the main model. This allows them to be printed more optimally and also to be a modular part I can use on future projects. I was inspired by dovetail hooks such as those from Kai on Makerworld and the Ultimount from davidmakes, but decided to model one from scratch to adapt it to my own models.
I've included .STEP Files for editing, I also plan to include a link to my parametric OnShape model eventually.
