I was having an issue that quick printer movements would jerk the filament, and when the roll was full this would trigger the load-sensor in the extruder.  Lowering spin friction with this gear bearing resolved the issue. 

NOTE! If your rolls are plastic and not cardboard you will likely need to adjust all the sizes just to make the "bump" bigger.  Plastic rolls will tend to slide off.
