Summary

A model of a Mercury Arc Rectifier. The model can be built into a diode recitifier. A Mercury Arc is a really wild invention that was widely used to convert alternating current into direct current. It was the best technical solution in a world without semiconductors.

I printed with PVA or PETG supports touching baseplate and Transparent PLA on Ultimaker S3 and S5. It is printed without holes for the cables and LED. I just used a drill to add them later.

The small diagram shows how the wiring is supposed to be assembled.

Ein Modell von einem Quecksilberdampfgleichrichter. Das Modell kann zu einem Diodengleichrichter ausgebaut werden. Ein Quecksilberdampfgleichrichter ist eine irre Erfindung um aus Wechselstrom Gleichstrom zu erzeugen. Es war die beste technische Lösung in einer Welt ohne Halbleiter.

Gedruckt mit PVA und PETG Support aus Tranparentem PLA auf Ultimaker S3 und S5. Gedruckt ohne Löcher für die Kabel und LED. Die habe ich selbst am Schluss einfach reingebohrt wo ich sie haben wollte.
